Just 2 years ago, he took on Kanye West in a very publicized album release battle that ended with 50 moving less units than Kanye. Ironically, both Jay-Z and 50 Cent have released albums on September 11th; Jay released Blueprint September 11, 2001 while 50 released Curtis September 11, 2007.
Jay has already gone on record to confirm the completion of Blueprint 3 in a recent interview with DJ Drama.
Yeah, pretty much it's done. You know I still tweak it. I made 'PSA' which was the last record I made on The Black Album and 'Give It To Me' was the last record I made on Dynasty. So, I'm always open to recording new records. It's pretty much done, it could go out the door right now. September 11th, the first date, it's the anniversary of the original one, of course it's a tragedy as well so we're going to be doing a lot of great things with charities and everything. In addition to completing Blueprint 3, Jay-Z has reportedly signed a three book deal. The first book will be titled Decoded and will give Jay a chance to decode his lyrics from the songs he selects to give his fans a deeper look into his songwriting.
As for 50, the rapper released his mixtape War Angel earlier this month and it is available as a free download on his site thisis50.com.
