RATED R

Peep the official album cover for Rihanna’s 4th studio album ‘Rated R’. Pretty much standard-fare and expected, granted the album’s title. The cover was shot by noted photographer Ellen von Unwerth.

One can only hope the record itself, due November 23rd, serves up better material than its first single, the lukewarmly received ‘Russian Roulette’, and follow-up single ‘The Wait Is Ova’ - which isn’t sounding like anything to scream about. As one of those who firmly believe Ms. Fenty’s success is a testament to nothing more than the power of the dollar (see: stylists, paid radio play, media-flooding), ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ was a fluke IMO. Hence, I’m rather cynical about the chances of this record sounding like anything other than a dying alley cat hollering over hot beats. That said, believe it or not, I’d love to be proven wrong.

Point of No Rihturn

Rihanna broke her silence today on Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, and her website by letting the world know that THE WAIT IS OVER! What wait you ask? I guess we will all find out on November 23, 2009, but I'm more than certain that it's going to be the release of her new album. I can't wait.

eyePreview: On the Set of "Successful"

Here is some behind the scenes footage of Drake's next single "Successful" featuring Trey Songz. The video looks so much better and much more sophisticated than "Best I Ever Had". The video was directed by Jake Davis (check out his blog here).

Happy watching! What do you guys think of Drake since he's become a "mainstream" artist?

eyePreview: MTV Awards 2009 performers

The bar has been RAISED and the stakes are now even higher as the list of 2009 MTV VMA performers grows bigger with today's mega announcement that hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and Pop Art princess Lady Gaga will perform!

Jay-Z and Lady Gaga join the already-majah roster of 2009 MTV VMA performers: Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink, and Muse.

Jay-Z appearances aren't ubiquitous happenings -- He's not exactly a hermit, but he's not the kind of guy to show up to the opening of a door and pimp himself out to anyone who'll listen. Why? BECAUSE HE'S JAY-Z. HE DOESN'T HAVE TO. To say that Jay-Z's 2009 VMA performance is going to be the stuff of pop culture legend is like saying Madonna's arms are only somewhat bananas.

Now speaking of bananas, Lady Gaga, who's up for a MIND-REELING nine VMAs, will be busy that night, to say the least. Gaga also said that she's "simply gutted to be both a performer and nominee at the 2009 VMAs. In fact, I'm so happy, I could die." Hopefully Lady Gaga was speaking figuratively because she's got a BIG show to put on that night. And after she shot fire out of her breasts at the Much Music Awards in Canada this past June, we expect very big things of her VMA performance! She'd better crawl out of the mouth of a live camel or something. (JK, PETA.)

Also, AWKWARD alert -- she's up against Beyonce (MRS. Jay-Z!) for nine VMAs. Wonder if this will be awkwardsville backstage that night.

ALSO, just added to the growing list of 2009 VMA presenters are Nelly Furtado, Leighton Meester and iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove, who is so teensy and adorable.

eyePreview: On the Set of "Run This Town"

The track is hot, and the video looks like its going to be even hotter! "All black everything, black cards, black cars, all black everything"...it looks like Hov wasn't playing when he said that because in most of the video it looks like there is nothing but black, and that's sexy! I love this song! I think I'll do a sweet sixteen on the beat, what do you guys think? Well check out these pictures from the video shoot...(Click the thumbnails for a larger picture.)

If you've been hiding under a rock somewhere and have yet to hear this song, check it out below. eyeCan't wait for the video! The only thing that's on my mind...is who's gon' run this town tonight...

eyePreview: Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami

If you love the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, then I'm more than positive that you can't wait until the premiere of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. With Khloe's bold personality, I'm sure that she will be giving everyone something to talk about...and she's doing just that with this preview of her kissing Terrence J., host of BET's 106 & Park.

The Kardashian sisters were actually in Miami while I was there in May 2009 of Memorial Day weekend. They were celebrating their brother Rob's Graduation and the launch of the store DASH! I passed by the store, it look like a store, but they weren't there so I didn't bother staying very long. Anywho, take a peek at the preview of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami below:

The show debuts Sunday, August 16th at 10pm, only on E!
