With the OXYS, you can also expect the unexpected. But before that releases, the OXYMORRONS are ironically dropping their single, "Padded Sky", on a sound cloud near you. The track is fully reminiscent of their past work projects; however, you can hear the musical growth. The Hip-Rock, Alternative, R&B, and full-on eclecticism of their records is what makes the Oxys who they are. We look forward to hearing the new project...but for now - Happy listening!
There comes a time in everyone's life where things change completely. Just ask rapper Nixon Nyce, who has recently been affected by the disease Multiple Sclerosis (MS). When life throws us off for a second, we have a choice whether we'll let our circumstances control us, or if we're control them.
Nixon took it upon himself to make a difference. Not only is he looking to change his life, but the life of others affected by MS. Do you have a favorite rap artist? Well we need you to go onto Twitter and make them, and all of your followers, aware of the charity project Nixon has taken on. Not often will anyone have a charity event where 100% of the proceeds benefit the organization, but Nixon is serious about raising money and giving it directly to the cause at hand; the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Being the most powerful country, doesn't mean we're healthiest. In America, the obesity rate is the highest. You may remember First Lady Michelle Obama taking the initiative to do something about this. Just one year ago she teamed up with the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation to help fight childhood obesity with her campaign Let's Move!
Many celebrities, from singers, chefs, and talk show hosts, have come together to help spread the message and do something! Beyoncé is one of them! She revamped her Swizz Beatz produced track, “Get Me Bodied,” to fit the cause of the campaign. In the Melina Matsoukas - directed video, Bey breaks a sweat through an instructional how-to on staying fit through dancing.
The Task Force recommendations focus on the five pillars of the First Lady’s Let’s Move!initiative:
1. Creating a healthy start for children
2. Empowering parents and caregivers
3. Providing healthy food in schools
4. Improving access to healthy, affordable foods
5. Increasing physical activity
"In the end, as First Lady, this isn’t just a policy issue for me. This is a passion. This is my mission. I am determined to work with folks across this country to change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition."

A phenomenal woman, that's who she is, but it doesn't stop there. She's an advocate for lupus awareness, a singer and a great poet. In honor of National Poetry Month we want to reintroduce you to Shanelle Gabriel.
If you love a good poem on relationships and love, Shanelle's got you covered. No matter who you are, it's safe to say that you've had a crush before. I've had a few and when I heard this poem I felt like I wrote it. If you haven't experienced a crush, maybe Shanelle will be able to illustrate what it's like in her piece "Crushing Hard". In honor of National Poetry Month, I'd like you to meet Janette...itz. She's a poet and lyricist from Los Angeles California, and has been buzzing all over the web with her latest poem "I Will Wait...For You". The poem focuses on one of the largest aspects of a relationship, sex. What I love most about Janette...ikz is how she works her spirituality and relationship with God into her poetry. The poem is real and her delivery draws you in.
In a world where sex is put in the forefront for young people, it's important that the message of abstinence and celibacy is heard. Nowadays, young ladies and teens think that waiting for "The one" is impossible; but they need to hear this message and maybe then, they'll be able to understand how great waiting is. Happy watching!
By far, the best performance at the 2011 Grammy Awards was "Forget You" by Grammy award winner Cee-Lo Green ft. Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow. The performance was comical, colorful and full of character. The song, originally "F*** You" is single released off of Cee-lo's album The Lady Killer, released a few months ago in 2010. It's a great song - if you take away the intentions of it - nevertheless, lately you know you have a hit on your hands if your song appears on the hit show, Glee. Some may have been surprised by Paltrow's musical abilities, but in a recent episode of Glee she not only proved that she's a good actress, but that she can too hold a note. So for those of you who thought the Grammys were a bit lackluster, I couldn't agree more, but this performance made me smile. Happy watching!

It warms a true sports fans heart when their team of choice, or athlete, feels compelled to acknowledge their debt to the fans. Without the fans, sports would be nothing. Recently, the Philadelphia Eagles did their part in giving back to the community which supports them; more specifically, a child in need. This child, Nadin Khoury, of Pennsylvania, had been going through a tumultous time at school as a result of hazing and bullying at the hands of his peers.
On January 11th, Nadin was the victim of being drug through the snow by seven other teenage boys,and afterwards hung in a nearby tree. As Nadin hollered in anguish one of the culprates felt the need to video-record his horror. When authorities responded, arresting the young men, they showed Nadin and his family the recording with Nadin responding, "I was trying to escape and to get away from them. For the first two days after my body still hurt. But after that I just got mad everytime I think about it" (Courtesy of the Daily News).
The story was picked up by ABC News and local media, prompting arguably the surprise of young Nadin's life. He was a guest on The View, where Nadin informed the women that he wants to offer encouragement to other kids who are victims of bullying. At the end of the interview DeSean Jackson, Todd Herremans, and Jamal Jackson made a special appearance bringing Nadin a special gift.
Denzil "Young Flame" Porter has been hard at work pushing Aids Awareness! His song "Intuition" is geared towards spreading awareness on the issue of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and encourage those out there to get tested and know their status. We commend Young Flame for taking on this great task, as he continues to put his artistry to good use by getting a message out that needs to be heard by the world. As you watch the video and listen to the record, you'll see how the "Mind boggling story of how non-communication and intuition" unfolds. The video was directed by Fionia Amara & Jaison Williams. What happened those good ole good black films? You know the ones I'm talking about, those of a classic/powerful nature. Where are the movies like Waiting to Exhale, The Best Man, Soul Food, Brown Sugar, Ali, Above the Rim, and Malcolm X, where are those movies that told our story in so many variations? Now I would be remiss if I didn't give credit where credit is due. Tyler Perry has done his part to carry the torch lit by the likes of Melvin Van Peebles, The Hughes Brothers, and John Singleton. And now, Darrell James Roodt is honoring Winnie Mandela.
It is up to us to inspire the creative minds amongst us, and support those who share their energy with us. This is where initiative comes to fruition, and legacy can be maintained. Similar to the story of one of the most recognizable and influential black women in history.

We all know her name, and though past events may have silenced her for a bit, but there's no doubt about it that Rihanna is back, and LOUD! Her new record is in stores now and she has been releasing videos left and right. One of my personal favorites off her fifth studio album is her collaboration with Drake, "What's My Name". The video is simple, fun, and reminded me of the Rihanna we met nearly 5 years ago. She was very likable and personable in showing the cute/laid-back side of a "relationship" and everything was easy, breezy and carefree. The styling in the video was great and the NYC Central Park vibe just added to everything else you needed in the video. The song was produced by StarGate and the video was directed by Philip Andelman. We have the brand new video for your enjoyment, so enjoy it! Happy watching.
On November 7, 2010, BET aired BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Hosted by actress Nia Long, the show highlighted the lives of black girls and women making a difference. Black Girls Rock! Inc. is a non-profit youth empowerment and mentoring organization established to promote the arts for young women of color, as well as to encourage dialogue and analysis of the ways women of color are portrayed in the media. Founder of BGR, Beverly Bond and BET executive, Deborah Lee did a great job in putting together a wonderful and inspiring event.
The show featured "M.A.D. Black Girl Who Rock", which included you're average girls that made a difference in their community by their work, volunteering and advocay. Celebrity honorees included: Raven Symoné, Missy Elliot, Ruby Dee, Keke Palmer, Iyania Vanzant, General Marcelite J. Harris, and Teresa Clark. Performers included: Jill Scott, Shontelle, Keri Hilson, Keyshia Cole, Kelly Price, Ledisi, Marsha Ambrosius and Fantasia Barrino.
Since 2006, BLACK GIRLS ROCK! has been dedicated to the healthy development of young women and girls. BLACK GIRLS ROCK! seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves. For the past four years, we have enjoyed the opportunity to enrich the lives of girls aged 12 to 17 years old through mentorship, arts education, cultural exploration and public service. If you've been wondering where the new fix of music is from some of the most talented unsigned artists - look no further. Oxymorrons, Eric Sosa, Indigo, and Ayindé - if you know elleELLEeye, you've heard these names before. We all know artists out there grinding, but these fellas are making "Major Moves". It's been a minute since Ayindé has released new music (he discusses the reasons why in his recent video), but him and Indigo have been working on a project with Tru Statement Entertainment - Ayindigo. The first single off of the project has been released and it is entitled, "Major Moves".
Next up we have Eric Sosa and the Oxymorrons with their Halloween released record, "Interesting Encounter". Produced by Sonic Relief & Ony of The Oxymorrons, the track has an interesting sound to it and the flare of the artists on it. Happy listening!

It's safe to say that rapper Nicki Minaj is slowly working her way into the hearts of many. She just released a video for her single "Check It Out" with Will.I.Am and has just premiered the official video for "Right Thru Me".
Her co-star in the video is French model Willy Monfret and he is all types of eyecandy. I personally enjoyed the video, and it made me appreciate the song even more. Her album, Pink Friday is due out in November 22nd and the video was directed by Diane Martel.
Next up, we have the official video for Diddy-Dirty Money's "Loving You No More" featuring Drake. Cool, modern, and contemporary are words that i would use to describe the video. I remember hearing this song last year when it was in its beginning stages and I love it even more now. Dawn is one talented lady with some major songwriting skills. After numerous push backs, the album, Last Train To Paris, is finally due in stores on December 14th!
We're still in the month of breast cancer awareness, and one cannot stress the importance of your health. For women (and men) out there, it's important that you get checked for the disease, the earlier the better. Some people may be freaked out or afraid of what the results may be, but even if you find a lump, it may be a benign cyst and not as serious as you think. If you're afraid to go to a doctor, it's okay. You can feel your own boobies first!
Although you can perform this self-test, it's important that you go see a doctor/physician to validate your findings or lack there of. Find a friend to do the self-exam with you, that way you won't freak out as much. Don't wait too long - early detection doesn't mean your life is over, it just means you have more time to enjoy it once you're healthy. No one will care for your body if you don't!
People may call him crazy, selfish, egotistical, even insane, but either way, KANYE WEST is always talked about. Last year he made headlines due to a shocking event at the VMAs, and to escape the chaos, he chose to RUNAWAY. He didn't stay away too long, true artists never do. He has people looking forward to Friday nights for the singles off of his album "GOOD Fridays" to drop, his album, and most recently the world had the chance to experience his latest artwork in his film, RUNAWAY. Starring Selita E. Banks, the film captures Kanye and a Phoenix (Selita) - who served as his muse. The art and imagery in the film was great; kudos go out to Vanessa Beecroft (Art Director). Today's new videos come from Rihanna, Travie McCoy and Chris Brown. Chris' "Yeah 3x" has been playing in heavy rotation and the video was highly anticipated. Travies music video for "Need You" off his album, Lazarus has a Chinatown influence on it, and the song is lovable. The official video for Rihanna's second single "Who's That Chick" from her forthcoming LOUD (due out November 12th) is here! The video features both "Day" and "Night" elements and has been used for a Doritos campaign and shows off the edgy and pop Rihanna. This video follows the recent release of her video for "Only Girl (In the World)" video. Last but not least, Chris Brown's release of his video which has a great energy and couldn't be without his signature dance moves. Happy watching!
Willow Smith, no stranger to the entertainment industry, is declaring that she is a true artist. In more ways then one, Willow brightens up a room with her style, personality and wit in her first video for her single "Whip My Hair", directed by Ray Kay. The nine-year-old took things a step further from the usual painting the town red cliché. Instead, the Roc Nation signee whips her hair enough to add life to her bland classmates. The video features lot of color, wild hairdos, stellar, yet youthful fashion, and a cameo from her big brother, Jaden Smith.
