eyeLIKE The Budget Babe

While going about my day as normal, browsing for cool fashion sites via Google Chrome, I came across this site called The Budget Babe. I LOVE IT! It shows you a ton of very chicly put together outfits inspired by our favorite celebrities; Queen LaTifah, SJP, and Kim Kardashian - who are just a few examples. What they do is give you the celebrity's look, and show you pieces similar to the ones that that celebrity is wearing. What's so great about that? The pieces are MUCH CHEAPER! Just because it's a recession doesn't mean we have to sacrifice beauty! Need to see it to believe it? Well look...

Now, you see those numbers? They match to a caption underneath the picture; which tells you the price of the item and where to find it. You can see it on the site TheBudgetBabe.com. Check it out and have fun, Ladies!

WiSH LIST: iPad

Just when you thought Apple was trying to make iPods smaller and smaller, the iPad came along. Apple unveiled its new tablet-style iPad and plans on selling it starting at $499. The iPad resembles an iPhone, but larger. Apple will sell some iPad models with data plans from AT&T, with no contract required. Apple Inc. will have to convince consumers, many of whom already have Internet-connected phones, computers and TVs, that they’ll want to pay that much for such a device, when many small, lightweight “netbooks” cost less than $400.

CEO Steve Jobs says the iPad will be better for reading books, playing games and watching video than either a laptop or a smart phone. The initial price is likely to drop. Apple sold the first iPhone for $599 but slashed the price to $399 after a few months, upsetting early buyers.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE iPad?

ToP THIS: Mascara

If you personally know me, you'd know that eye LOVE Mascara. There once was a time when it was a slight obsession, but anyway, I wanted to share some of my favorite mascaras so you can get the best lashes this fall (or any other time).

DRAMA
I use these when I'm going out want to glam it up (of course not all at the same time). What eyeLove about these mascaras is that they apply well with a couple strokes and they show you that bigger lashes doesn't mean clumpy lashes

Lash Blast: The commercials suckered me in. Cover girl uses this huge brush to create huge lashes. I have nothing against "Colossial Lash by Maybeline" but please dont confuse the two. Colossial Lash looks exactly like Lash Blast except it's in a yellow tube and doesn't give the same results.

2000 Calorie: I found this treasure by accident. Walking around the makeup section of walmart, I noticed that all the Max Factor make up resembled Mac. I checked out the name of this mascara and I had to get it. 2000 calorie... Ide never eat that many calories (in one sitting lol) but I was inspired to pick it up because of the gluttonous name.

Rimmel 3D Extreme: One day I'm walking around looking to buy a new mascara and here it is... buy one get one free (please tell me how I could say no) so of course I purchased it and fell in love. The little brush is what made it so cool. it seemed to get every lash and clumping was not even an issue. This is on the list of favorites.

Mac Zoom Lash: I know I said 3D Extreme was one of my favorites, well so it this one (and not because its Mac). I never applied mascara so effortlessly. One stroke of this stuff was the equivalent of 3 or 4 strokes of the other stuff. It costs a little bit more, but its well worth it because you'll be using less anyway.

EVERYDAY
When I just want to add a little fun to my eyes on a regular day, I don't want to look like im going to a party with exaggerated lashes. Here are some good everyday-type mascaras.

Lash Stiletto Maybeline: This is a good mascara for everyday contrary to the commercials making it seem like its the hottest stuff ever.

Rimmel Glam Eyes:I got this one because of the pretty pink crown on the wand. I like it... nothing special tho but perfect for going to class, family gathering, church.

Eye want to try:
Telescopic Explosion Mascara by L'Oreal

This new mascara looks super cool and it reminds me of the 3D Rimmel mascara.

These Lips Were Made For...

Besides a female's (ass)ets or bosom, I think that the favorite part of the female body, to a guy, would be her lips. From the way they shine, to the way the taste, to them being completely bare and kissable...Lips are the sh*t! I found some lips that looked so hot (pause) that I had to share. I love the art of the lipstick and how different colors and props were used in these photos. Although some of these lips wouldn't be ideal for just going out on a regular day, or even a date, it would be cool just to experiment or even have a little photo shoot.

I ♥ the heart, very creative!

*The pink lip gloss is so girl and innocent. It definitely says "I may look good but..."

*Can we say SMOKING! I mean literally. The smoke just adds a bad-a** attribute to the photo, and we all know a red lip is daring ;-)

*The ICE Princess lip is very daring and although I do necessarily think may people go for it, it would be an interesting look.

*Once again we see a bubblegum pink lip. This lip has a more glamorous side to it than the other, and that gloss is definitely poppin'!

*Last but not least we have a simple pink lip that is just about a shade and a half darker than naturally pink lips. This would be good if you just want to go for a subtle natural look.

*Then we have an olive lip. Which is a classic color and looks even more fabulous when you have a pearl in your mouth [lol].

Well there you have, go out and buy a new color lipstick/gloss today, it'll be funny and is a great way to accessorise an outfit!

...to be disContinued

As I get "older" I start to think of those things that were accessible to me in the past that are no longer available. Yes, those discontinued items that I used to love to ask my mom for at the grocery store, or the things that I just had to have (because everyone else did in school)...but where are they now? Here are some items that I want back:

Hot pockets pot pie express! I don't really like hot pockets, but the chicken and turkey pot pie express were The shiznit! I don't know why they got rid of them, but whatever.

If you know me you know how much I love Charmed! This show was the best and had a great eight year run. I'm was so mad when I heard that the show was in it's final season because it definitely could've kept on going for at least three more seasons. But I guess it's better to end on a high note.

I think I had to be in the 9th grade when Sprite Remix came out. I remember getting off of the bus after school and going to the store to buy one. We literally used to hide them so no one else could buy them. LOL I know that's a bit much, but you gotta do what you gotta do! The Sprite Remix became a "summer" soda and that was the end of that run!

Bop iT! This was one of the greatest games ever created! Remember when it was just "Bop it, Pull it, Twist it...and pass it"? Then they got all fancy and added the "Spin it" and "Flick it"; which were pretty cool, but man I miss the original. I just saw a commercial for a newer version. I hated playing with people that always messed up when the beat really started to speed up, didn't you?

And last but not least...SPICE GIRLS LOLLIPOPS! I know the ladies remember these! I think I was in the 4th or 5th grade when the Spice Girls were poppin'. And of course you can't forget the stickers of your favorite Spice Girl inside and putting them on your binder or notebook. Scary Spice and Sporty Spice were my faves, but if I had to choose now I would definitely be Posh Spice lol.

That all for now. What are some of your favorite things that have been discontinued?

eyeLike: 10 Cosmetic Uses for Everyday Foods

A part of being a girl is the need to pamper ourselves. Unfortunately for some, that may be a little costly. What I have found is ten ways to feel and look good using household items. Feeling and looking good doesn't always have to come at the expense of your wallet. From body scrubs, to using tea bags to get rid of the bags under your eyes, here are some fabulous remedies and tips:

1. Egg White Mask. You can either save your leftover egg whites for an omelet or angel food cake, or use them for your next facial. Just one white, beaten until smooth, is enough to cover your face. As with other masks, let it dry completely, then rinse off. It will leave you feeling refreshed, and your skin will be noticeably more taut.

2. Oatmeal Face Wash. Oatmeal has calming properties that soothe the skin and help reduce redness. It can be used in a variety of ways, from a body wash to a mask, but the most basic is this simple face wash: Mix together equal parts warm honey and lemon juice, then stir in three parts instant oatmeal until it turns into a paste. Apply to your face, then wash off with warm water.

3. Vinegar Hair Cleaner. Swap your conditioner for vinegar twice a month and you’ll get rid of any nasty buildup, as well as improve your hair’s silkiness and shine. Seriously. Don’t use dark or expensive vinegars; stick to cider or white wine vinegar for less strain on the wallet and better results. But don’t do this more than a few times a month or you’ll risk drying out your hair.

4. Honey and Brown Sugar Scrub. Fill a jar about two-thirds full with honey, add a scoop of brown sugar and one halved vanilla bean, and mix. Keep this in the shower and use it as a body scrub that will leave you smelling nice and feeling smooth.

5. Lemon Juice Lightener. Beach-goers have been doing this for years to lighten their locks. Just combine the juice of half a lemon with a handful of leave-in conditioner (which is less goopy than regular conditioner), spread on your hair, and comb through, then wash out. (Note: Highlighted or color-treated hair should be spared this homemade remedy, which could make your hair look brassy.) Many people also apply lemon juice directly to age spots to bleach them out, though this should be avoided on sensitive skin because lemon juice is highly acidic.

6. Coffee: Scrub and Shine-Maker. Your leftover coffee grounds can clog your drain or, if you’re feeling adventurous, be used as an invigorating scrub. For more details, check out this CHOW Tip. Needless to say, avoid doing this if you have sensitive skin. Leftover brewed coffee can also be mixed with some coffee grounds and conditioner to help increase shine in dark hair.

7. Tea Bag Eye Rejuvenator. The quintessential home cosmetic remedy is using cucumber slices on the eyes to reduce puffiness. While that certainly works, brewed black tea bags are even more effective. Place them on your eyes (which should be closed, of course) and let the tannins work their magic—about five minutes should do the trick.

8. Baking Soda Teeth Cleaner. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with a quarter teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide for one of the most basic forms of tooth care that exists. It’ll clean your teeth (some would argue better than store-bought toothpaste), but you’ll be missing out on the minty freshness. Of course, you could just go totally au naturel and gnaw a bit of spearmint for that.

9. Oil Moisturizer. Take a page from many a Mediterranean grandmother: Olive oil works fabulously as a lotion. Use too much and you’ll smell like pasta, but in small doses it works wonders as a daily lotion or massage oil. If olive oil isn’t your thing, sesame oil (regular not toasted), peanut oil, almond oil, and argan oil work too.

10. Cornstarch Bath Powder. Superabsorbent and extremely fine, cornstarch is the kitchen equivalent of baby powder and can be used in the same way. Combine it with a few leaves of a nice-smelling dried herb (rosemary, lavender, or sage, for instance) and pulse it in the food processor until evenly mixed. Sift out any large stray leaf bits, transfer to a container with a shake top (like an old baby powder bottle), and use to freshen up anything from your body to your sneakers.
