TREND CHECK: FRiNGE

Despite what it looks like outside spring is officially here. And the must have piece for the spring is FRINGE.

We all know that when we think of spring fashion we usually think of bright colors, floral prints or soft palettes; and that's cool, but this spring we're going to add fringe to the list. Adding a clothing piece that has fringe will keep you current with today's trend, and will also add a little funk to your wardrobe.

You can tie fringe into your look with this Tan Fringe Suede Shopper Bag from Top Shop; this will give you that boho 70's feel. Or, you can get extra funky with the Sand Fringed Denim Jacket By Unique, also sold at Top Shop. These pieces are sure to keep you current and fly.

But, be sure to keep it simple when wearing a fringe piece you don't want to overdo it. This is a trend that you can have fun with and make it your own. Enjoy!

Trend Check: The New Puritan

Fashion: Ever-changing, recycled, reused, innovative, and expressed through new trends. What is it now? As TopShop has so eloquently put it, we'll call this one "The New Puritan". Styled with its razor sharp tailoring in black, white and red - alongside a decadent touch of stand-out pieces in velvet and leather - it's simply a good look!

Ladies, take your wardrobe to new heights by stepping away from the burgundy and forest green of the fall, and go back to the the basic black and white pallet! Add a bold pop of red alongside some metal pieces, heels or high boots - and bridge the gap between edginess and femininity and you're set!. Take a look at some of the pulls from the TopShop look book and shop for your favorites at www.TopShop.com!

Trend Check: Fall Essentials

The summer's coming to a close, and for me that is more than enough to put a smile on my face. I love Autumn...the temperature, the colors, and the fashion. Doesn't everything seem easy, breezy and laid back in the fall? That's because it is! You don't have to worry about being too hot or too cold and everything always seems just right. But don't step out this Fall season without your fashion essentials! Yes, the color scheme for the fall usually remains the same every year; the burgundy, beige, forest green, teal and golds. Yet and still, there are some fashion items that we all should have in our closets and if not, make it a priority to purchase them.

The Blazer/Cardigan - The "Cardi" has been a hit in the fashion world for the past couple of years. With the "boyfriend" fit for the ladies, to the different lengths and styles, it can be the perfect touch to a lackluster outfit. A blazer has the same effect, and will add a chic and stylish touch to almost any outfit. Same rule applies for the men, keep it simple & add that cardigan or blazer for the dapper touch! (Embellished pocket cardigan from jcrew.com)

The Dark Rinse Denim - No matter who you are, you must have a pair of basic jeans.
With the fall you can wear the lighter washes while it's still nice out, but make sure you have a dark rinse pair of denim jeans. Darker denims/jeggings add a richness to your outfit. (J. Crew Relaxed fit jeans $96, Skinny dark rinse - Old Navy $34.50)

The Boots - Whether they're canvas, leather, cowboy, or moto boots, you can't go wrong! Unless of course, you try to do too much with your outfit. Boots are a necessity for the all. Your color choice should be brown, black, or tan. These colors are neutral and will nicely compliment the rest of your wardrobe. (Men's canvas boots: Topshop.com $80, Wmns boots: Coach.com $348)

The Button Up - A classic shirt that can be dressed for a casual day - or a day at work. The button up comes in so many different textures, colors, length and detailing, that it's almost impossible for one not to find the right fit for themselves. Plaids, floral, stripes and solids are a thumbs up for the fall! (NY & Co Boyfriend Denim shirt $39.95, Flannel J. Crew Shirt)

The Coat (or jacket) - Named "The Ultimate Investment Piece" by TopShop.com, a coat/jacket for the fall is definitely worth the money and time it takes to find the right color, style and fit! Here's where you can have fun before you have to throw on the bulky winter coat. When purchasing a fall coat, look for something that you can dress up and dress down. Also, leave a little room for layering - especially since you're investing in a coat that may cost more than the other items in your wardrobe, you want to have the option to wear it in the years to come.

The best thing about these items is that they're simple, and can be mix-and-matched with a number of different items. One of the plus sides to the fall is that you can certainly layer your outfits. Where to shop? Top Shop, Old Navy, Gap, Macys, H&M, or even bargain stores such as Target or Sears. Remember to have fun with fall fashion, and don't hesitate to take some of your summer items and transition them to this season. For instance, take a look at Perla's Perfect Transition Shoes post. Happy shopping!

eyeROCK: The Boyfriend Short

I know by this time in the summer, you're probably overwhelmed by all the trends surrounding you. The flower prints, the rompers, the cut off shorts - I can go on FOREVER. But one of my favorite trends right now is the boyfriend short. You know, the ones that kind of ride low on your waist and are baggy. I LOVE THOSE THINGS! It took me a little while to figure out how to style them up...You know, swag them out! But now that I got it, I wanna show you a few ways to wear them. I put together these looks so you can see how to rock them. Enjoy!
(Photo)

ROCK IT OUT with this red and gold combo. Red alone, is a statement color. Mixing red with the boyfriend shorts and gold accents scream "NOTICE ME". Adding the nude shoes and tank top compliment this outfit so well because it won't overpower the statement you're trying to make. This Alexander McQueen clutch is the PERFECT accent to this sexy rebel look. Last, the vintage Chanel earrings and snake pin add a little more of a WOW factor. Overall, this outfit is strong yet sexy.

I adore this sweet twist on the boyfriend short trend. If you want to look chic and business-minded while wearing the BF short, do it with subtle color hues and neutral pieces. All the pieces that I put with the boyfriend short in this set are solids because when you do solids in interesting shapes, it's bold; while still being understated. The printed scarf and molded sandals are the perfect touches of style by being uniquely tasteful. I added this great gold and white watch for that extra hint of independence. This set screams "I am woman. Watch me work it!"

Last but not least, here's a fun, non-constructed take on this hot summer trend. The mix of the boxy tee, flowing cardigan, baggy short gives that I-don't-care look while still looking interesting and wearable. By adding silver and black accessories and touches of red, the outfit transforms from something that looks thrown on to an actual look. The disheveled hair goes great with this look. If you wanted to, you could even switch out the tee for a fitted white tank and these comfortable shoes for pumps for a sexier look. With these looks to start you off, I say take the trend and go for it! Work it out, Ladies!

Summer Essentials: Jumpsuits & Rompers

TREND CHECK:

JUMPSUITS & ROMPERS

The summer's heating up and every female wants to look her best. But when the heat is so annoying and uncomfortable, we often settle for the plain t-shirt and denim shorts. Although there are plenty of alternatives to this combo, many suffer from the anxiety of figuring out how to look cute under the sun. My best suggestion to you, is the jumpsuit. As shown (Alexander Wang to left...Acne to right), they come in a variety of lengths, colors and just about every designers has a selection. Not only are they comfortable and versatile, but they come in one simple piece which gives us one less thing to worry about.

Vena Cava & Gaspard Yurkievich

We're sure your favorite retail store will have rompers and jumpsuits in stock. So be sure to check your local H&M, The Gap, Forever 21 - or go for the designer brands if your pockets allow it. Happy shopping!

Will rompers & jumpsuits be a part of your wardrobe this summer?

Another year, another season, and another fashion trend! One of my favorite Spring 2010 shoe trends has to be Clogs! Many designers, including Chanel and Louis Vuitton, put clogs on the runways of their Spring 2010 collections and now they're all over the place.

Want to try this trend? I recommend you visit Nordstrom or shop.nordstrom.com. They've got a ton of different styles and colors for you to choose from! Here's some of what they have...

Robert Clergerie 'Helis' Clog: $236.90

MICHAEL Michael Kors 'Sycamore' Clog: $119.95

Neon Flux

Preppy staples infused with bright colours set the tone for this exciting new trend. Taking influence from street fashion and mixing with vintage apparel, expect over-sized leisurewear, nylon sports jackets and overdyed skinny jeans for a trend that has a clear nod to the 90s. Shop each look by clicking the thumbnails below, or click here to shop the whole trend (Top Man 2010).

It's not about overexhaggerating the neon look, subtlty works as well; especially if you're not one for overly bright colors. Here are two pieces that you may consider: Yellow Neon Pixel Crew T-Shirt - $28; Black striped polo shirt - $32

.

Will you be following the Neon trend for the Spring/Summer season? COMMENT!
