eyePoll: Dating & Religion

For this edition of eyePoll, DANiE thought we should take a chance and see how you all felt when it came to dating and religion. From the time we first start dating, religion may or may not be a factor, but as you come to terms with a more serious relationship, it can be something that will make or break a relationship - or determine who you are willing to have relations with. So, we asked:

Would you date someone who had different religious beliefs than you? And here were the results:

How did you vote? Why did you vote the way you did? I'll leave my reason in a comment, as should you ;)

eyePoll: True Friends See & Tell

"Would you tell your friend if you caught his/her partner cheating?" Seems like it would be a nobrainer, and for the most part it was. When we asked you this question as a part of our poll 83.33% of you said "Yes, I wouldn't be a friend if I didn't", while 16.67% of you said "No. Friend or not, it's not my place. Nor is it any of my business.". I guess it all depends on how close you and that particular friend are, and the situation. Granted, things may get a little complicated if you're friends with both parties.

How did you vote? Didn't vote? What's your opinion?

eyePoll: Truth Hurts

No matter who we are, what our age or how honest we think we've been throughout our lifetime, we all have told a lie. Whether the question was "Honey, do I look fat?" or "Have you ever cheated on me?", we have held back the truth from someone, often thinking that it would protect their feelings. That lie may have seemed like the right thing to say at the time, but was it worth it in the long run?

In any case, we've all played the other side of the fence as well, the person who that "little white lie" was told to. When it came to the issue of being "protected by a lie" versus being "hurt by the truth", 72% of you would rather be hurt by the truth. I was surprised that the vote wasn't split a bit more even, but I guess our readers prefer the truth. Some people would like to be protected by a lie to cover their insecurities or to be naive to a situation. Where did you stand on the issue and if you didn't vote what do you think?

eyePoll: Nicknames

The results are in! We asked our readers, "Do you mind being given a nickname by someone you've only known for a short period of time?" and as you can see above, and 55% of you are cool with it. I am personally a part of the 45% who prefers to be called by my full name, unless we're cool like that.

Tiff, Tiffy, T, T.I., Tiffy-Wiffy, - some of the nicknames (relating to my real name) that I have been called within my lifetime. Do I mind it, yes and no. If I know you, I'm fine with nicknames, but when I just meet a person and introduce myself by my full name, I do that for a reason. Some people just get too comfortable in calling me Tiff too soon. It's not a big deal, but it bothers me.

Where did you place your vote? What do you think about the topic?

Battle of the Sexy

Raymond vs. Trey

After the R&B veteran, Usher, released Confessions, I'm pretty sure we didn't think another R&B sensation would hit the scene and do it like he did...and then there was Trey. With his passionate voice and sexy songs, Trey Songz has the ladies in awe over hits like "Panty Droppa", "Neighbors Know My Name" and "Say Ahh".

But Usher is back with Raymond vs. Raymond; which may be suggesting that any name other than that is competition. But no matter who the artist is, for them to be successful, they must have that "it" factor. There are no limits on what that "it" can be, but one thing is clear, and that is that both Usher & Trey have "it"!

So ladies...the question is:

FYeye: Usher an R&B vet has dropped a hit after hit from his new album Raymond vs. Raymond in stores now! Here's Trey or Trigga covering the the May 2010 issue of VIBE magazine and his album Ready is in stores as well.

Holey Moley

People are always looking for the latest trends, but why look for those when you can be a trendsetter yourself? No money, no style, no problem, all you need is a t-shirt and a pair of scissors and you can look like this:

But if you prefer to pay someone else for the labor, you can purchase Balmain's $1625 100% cotton Slashed Army Tee. Cool right? (Wrong!)

Bad Girls Club

When we asked, "Who's your favorite bad girl?" here were the results:

It seems like not too many people like Kendra & Amber, but we wonder how the poll would've gone if new girl Sexy Lexi was in the mix. So as the poll speaks for itself, your favorite bad girl(s) are Natalie & Portia. That's pretty funny considering Portia went home for fighting Natalie, but it was entertaining none-the-less.

eyeScream, You Scream...

...We all scream for ice cream. This week's poll was for anyone who enjoys eating a pint of ice cream in the efforts to mend a broken heart, or just enjoys the act of wallowing.

When eyeAsked: What flavor of ice cream do you prefer, here were the results:

Vanilla 36.8%
Chocolate 10.5%
Strawberry 5.2%
Mint Chocolate Chip 10.5%
Cookie Dough 0%
Cookies & Cream 26.5%
Bubble Gum 0%
Birthday Bash 10.5%
Piece of Cake 0%

My favorite flavor is vanilla, but I'm open to try everything. For those of you who fronted on the "Piece of Cake" ice cream, ya'll are missing out. I was exposed to this in college and it is base! Then came "Birthday Bash" which is even more crack than "Piece of Cake". I was surprised that no one picked cookie dough. The next time you have ice cream try something new!

We Can Be Friends

I was somewhat surprised by the results of this week's poll. When I asked "When it comes to starting a brand new relationship:" do you jump right in or start out as friends...here were the results:

17.4% of you said "I jump right in; with titles and all." while

82.6% of you said "I like to build a strong relationship as friends first."

Although I didn't think that jumping into a relationship would have more votes than starting out as friends, I did think that there would be more votes for it. Where's the spontaneity people? Let me stop because I voted to start out as friends myself. I think that building a solid foundation is key to having a long-term relationship. Leave those one night stands alone, they're called that for a reason! But if you want to try to make a relationship out of one...by all means.

3 the Hard Way

When I asked: "Who is your LEAST favorite Housewife of Atlanta?" here were the results:

26.7% of you said: "Kim. She's too much of a liar for me."

26.7% of you said: "Sheree. She's just Sheree and I don't like that."

13.2% of you said: "Lisa. She just tries too hard sometimes."

26.7% of you said: "Nene. She's plain 'ole obnoxious."

6.7% of you said: "Kandi. She can sing but she's too "ghetto"."

I was hoping the results would sway to only one person, but I can't control your votes. But without these three the show wouldn't be as entertaining at all. They are definitely the most drama filled characters on the show! My vote was for Sheree, I really don't like her character and what she's about, but that's just me.

Tat Me Up Please!

Here are the results from this week's poll. When eyeAsked "Tattoos or Piercings?" here were your responses:

76% of you said "Tattoos...You get more bang for your buck!"

23% of you said "Piercings...I don't think I could commit to something permanent."

I voted for tattoos myself, I have two and I think their pretty cool. I also have two holes in each ear, but I hardly where anything in my second hole. If you have a tattoo what is it and where (keep it clean? I'm not even going to ask where the 23% of you have piercings, because if it's not in your ears, I don't want to know.

Thanks for voting!

Can You Hear Me Now?

Here are the results from the latest poll. When eyeasked "If you had to choose one, would you rather be blind, mute, or deaf?", here were the results:

8% of you said "Be Blind".
16% of you said "Be Deaf".
and 75% of you said "Be Mute".

I guess being mute would be the "easiest" way to live huh? I mean you can still communicated through sign language, art or through writing. I appreciate those of you who chose blind and deaf. That says a lot about your character!

eyePoll: Riches or Happiness

When I asked "Would you rather marry rich or marry happy?" Here were the results:

25% of you said "Marry rich"
75% of you said "Marry happy"

I'm happy to know that it's not all about money, because once you marry happy, who says that you the riches won't follow. The more money you have the more problems. Marry for happiness people and I'm sure it will last longer than if you marry for the money.

eyePoll: Days of Our Lives

When I asked "When were the best years of your life?", here were the responses:

38% of you said "High School"
50% of you said "College"

12% of you said "Middle School"
0% of you said "Anytime I wasn't in school"

This goes to show you that having an education isn't the worst thing that can happen to you. In all actuality, we this is where we make our first best friend, have our first kiss, go to our first dance, etc.

College is one of the best experiences that I have ever had in my life. I met people that I know I will be friends with forever. I grew as an individual and I think it's safe to say that I found myself. If you're not sure about going away to school, I would suggest it, it's a wonderful experience.

eyePoll: Philanthropy The Leukemia and Lyphoma Society

As you know, elle elle eye wants to become a donator to a charity, and when I asked you to help me vote on three organizations that all meant a lot to me, here were the results!

67% "The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society"
20% "Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation"
13% "Make A Wish Foundation"

Here is some information about the diseases: Blood cancers such as leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes are cancers that originate in the bone marrow or lymphatic tissues. They are considered to be related cancers because they involve the uncontrolled growth of cells with similar functions and origins. The diseases result from an acquired genetic injury to the DNA of a single cell, which becomes abnormal (malignant) and multiplies continuously. The accumulation of malignant cells interferes with the body's production of healthy blood cells.

When you make a donation to elle.elle.eye, 75% of it will go to the The Leukemia and Lyphoma Society and the other 25% will go to elle.elle.eye itself to maintain the site. For questions about donations, email elleelleeye@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for your support. This means a lot to me so I will appreciate all donations, even if it's just $1.00.

eyePoll: Murder She Wrote

So, the votes are in! When eyeAsked "If you could get away with murder, would you do it?", here were the results:
21% of you said "Yes".

58% of you said "No".

21% of you said "I plead the 5th".

For those of you who said "Yes", you're sick, for the those of you who said "I plead the 5th", you're sicker, and for those of you who said "No", I wonder how hard it was for you to vote that way. I'm sure we've all had one point in our lives where we really considered it, so I won't judge you LOL.

eyePoll: Been In Love...

So, the votes are in! When eyeAsked "How many time have you been in love", here were the results from the poll:

0% of you said "Not yet"
40% of you said "Just once"
53% of you said "2-3 times"
6% of you said "4 or more times"

I think that love is a beautiful thing and although I was surprise that no one said "not yet", it put a smile on my face to know that at least all of the people who visit elleelleeye have experienced love. I'm not judging, but I think that if you've been in love more than four times you should start to wonder if it's really love. Sometimes I think that the first time people experience love, it may not really be love. For example, if you have a first love and you fall in love again that second love might show you that the first time you fell in love, it wasn't really love. Are you following me?

Anyways, you already know the drill; whether you voted or not, I'd like to hear your opinion on my comment above.

eyePoll: Abortions

Do you think it is unfair that a man has no say in whether or not a woman gets an abortion?

That was the question from last week's poll and here are the results:

0% of you think that it should be the man's decision.
40% of you think that it should require both the consent of the man and woman.
60% if you think that it should be the woman's decision.

For this poll I was in between "both the consent of the man and woman" and "woman's decision". I think a lot of it depends on whether or not the man is forcing the woman to have an abortion, if the woman was a victim or rape, or a bunch of other things. If I were every in this situation I think the best thing to do would be to ask my partner what they think we should do, think about it, and then do what's best for me. I also think that sometimes it's not fair to the males because at the end of the day females have the right to do whatever they want to their bodies.

If you voted (or didn't vote), why did you pick the answer you did?
