eyeapplaud: Fishburne in 'Thurgood'

In one hour and 30 minutes, acclaimed actor Lawrence Fishburne moves an audience in his portrayal of the first Black Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall.

Through August 8th, Fishburne will place himself in the bold personality of the public figure at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, California, helping us to understand what it was like to endure a continuous struggle between the government and individual states.

What’s more is that for a story so powerful, the production is very simple. Fishburne wears a plain suit until the end when he sports judicial robes, and stands in front of a long wooden table, with occasional clips to help support what he says.

His performance is conscious and flawless.

In my opinion, I think Thurgood wouldn’t have adjourned this case.
