eyeapplaud: Fishburne in 'Thurgood'

In one hour and 30 minutes, acclaimed actor Lawrence Fishburne moves an audience in his portrayal of the first Black Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall.

Through August 8^th, Fishburne will place himself in the bold personality of the public figure at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, California, helping us to understand what it was like to endure a continuous struggle between the government and individual states.

What’s more is that for a story so powerful, the production is very simple. Fishburne wears a plain suit until the end when he sports judicial robes, and stands in front of a long wooden table, with occasional clips to help support what he says.

His performance is conscious and flawless.

In my opinion, I think Thurgood wouldn’t have adjourned this case.
