Gabby S., Elle's New Bell

Elle Magazine is celebrating their 25th Anniversary, and with 25 being the theme and magic number of the October issue, they needed the hottest celebrities to join them. On the cover, Oscar nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe! It's great to see her back in action after the Oscars and Precious hype. The issue features Gabourey along with, Janelle Monae, Lauren Conrad, Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Mila Kunis, and a few others who were chosen for Elle's “The Quarterbacks: Our Favorite 25-Somethings”. Check out Gabby’s cover and picture from the magazine along with some other photos and blurbs from the other girls below. Happy reading!

Gabourey on celebrating her twenty-fifth birthday: “Part of me thought it would be weird if people knew I was a grown-up playing a teenager in Precious. So I had a twenty-first-birthday party. We had drinks and went to a strip club called Shotgun Willie’s.” Megan McCain on celebrating her twenty-fifth: “I went to Vegas with friends and did everything one does in Vegas: play blackjack, drink, and eat steak.” Janelle on how she’ll celebrate
her twenty fifth: “On a space shuttle.” What are the best and worst things about turning 25? “The best thing is, I’m happy. The worst is that I’m scared; the scariest thing is that I know it can’t be easy—the years to come.” - Amanda S. Lauren on the best part of being in her twenties: “It’s your time to be selfish; you still have freedom.”

Seems like Bow Wow's got his birthday wish before he blew out his candles this year. The rapper turned 23 yesterday and celebrated his birthday with a lady friend that we may be familiar with; his ex-girlfriend (current girlfriend?) Angela Simmons. *Photo by Prince Williams @ ATLpics.net

ATL Housewife Nene Leakes' Son Arrested

Leakes' son, Bryson Brant, was pulled over in Georgia for unspecified reasons (most likely DWB) and upon running his license, the cops discovered some old tickets that turned into warrants. After further searching, the police discovered weed on Bryson. He was charged with two misdemeanors and spend three days in jail.

Fashion Flop: Fantasia in Kardashian Dress

Fantasia Barrino decided to support the Kardashians and wear a piece from their line with Bebe. Too bad it wasn't as flattering as we would have liked it to be...

The Academy Award Goes to...

If you had any doubts about why March is Women's History Month, you must have missed the Oscars last night. Katherine Bigelow became the first female director to win Best Picture (the biggest award) for "The Hurt Locker", Mo'nique took home the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Precious" based on the novel Push by Sapphire, while my best friend (in my head) Sandra Bullock (who looked uh-maze-ing) won her first Oscar for her film "The Blind Side" as Actress in a Leading Role beating out rookie of the year Gabourey Sibide. Congratulations to all of winners of the night. I hope to be at the Oscars one day. Maybe I should start taking my acting dreams more serious lol. Here is Academy Award Winning Actress Sandra Bullock's acceptance speech, happy watching!

Six's Company Too

With the Oscar nominations announced just yesterday, many people are fired up at the fact that there are 10 nominees for Best Picture. This shouldn't go without surprise giving the extraordinary talent in the mix. Movie vets such as Morgan Freeman, Sandra Bullock, Jeff Bridges, Woody Harrelson have been nominated for films such as Avatar and The Blind Side. And let's not forget to mention Carey Mulligan and the rookie of the year Gabourey Sidibe who's nominated for her role as "Precious" in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.

The stars gathered for Newsweek's 13th Oscar Roundtable, and I would have loved to be there, but since I couldn't be – here's a snippet for your entertainment. Happy Watching!

VANITY effFAIR

“Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe is making a big impact on the Hollywood scene. Big enough that it has landed her features in the latest issues of Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar. It's good to see a "plus-sized" girl doing her thing despite of the nearly concrete mold that is set by the media. Hopefully this is one of many steps to break the stereotypes of those who cover magazines. Vanity Fair is dedicating their entire issue to plus size models. Gabourey tells Harper’s Bazaar on her shoot:

"I feel like a model. It justifies everyone in my life who told me I wouldn’t be anything until I lost weight. It justifies that little girl who cried because she didn’t think she could be in front of the camera. And it’s for other girls who feel like they can’t do this or that and feel like they’re not pretty and not worthy of having their photo taken."

Gabourey On her Confidence:

People always ask me, ‘You have so much confidence. Where did that come from?’ It came from me. One day I decided that I was beautiful, and so I carried out my life as if I was a beautiful girl. I wear colors that I really like, I wear makeup that makes me feel pretty, and it really helps. It doesn’t have anything to do with how the world perceives you. What matters is what you see. Your body is your temple, it’s your home, and you must decorate it.”
