eyeWatch: Came Along (Way)

Being the new kid on the block is no easy job. You need to learn the territory you're about to approach, be careful of who you interact with, but most importantly, you need to make your mark hard enough for it to leave an impact. I've learned that first hand just by starting up elleELLEeye, but apparently, Queens native rapper, Eric Sosa has learned the tricks of the trade as well. Excuse my grammar, but he's "Came Along (Way)".


First introduced to us on Twitter, then performing at our Sweet Sound of Hip-Hop event last year, Eric is on the move! He's released his second video for "Came Along Way" off of his mixtape Rhyme & Noodles: NO ARTIFICIAL Flavoring Vol. 2. If that wasn't enough to keep the fans entertained, his first single for "One You" featuring Rocki Evans is now available on iTunes for the purchase of $.99.

The "Came Along (Way)" video was directed by James Calinda and takes us through Sos' journey thus far. Baby photos, performance footage, and a walk down memory lane are all you can expect to see as the video captures moments near and dear to Sos and his career.

Dope Files Presents LIVE SESSION

Looking for something to do tomorrow evening? Try this, the very first LIVE SESSION hosted DopeFiles.com! This will be a live event showcasing musical talents Lydia Caesar, Astro Kid, Tyler Jacob, Yoodee Frances, and Eric Sosa at The Shrine.  Take it from us when we say Eric Sosa knows how to put on a show! We're sure the other talents won't disappoint.

Mixtape Madness: Nixon Nyce, Eric Sosa,OXYMORRONS

Yes, we've been M.I.A., but that hasn't stopped some of the finest unsigned artists from putting out new work. We have three mixtapes for you to add to your eyePods.

First up, Nixon Nyce brought in the new year by giving us his Sooner Than Later project. The tape is hosted by Akon's DJ Benny-D, and with over 18 tracks, you'll definitely find something that interests you. On January 25th, some of our eyes were in the building at Greenhouse NYC to witness the celebration of Eric Sosa's mixtape release; Rhyme & Noodles: No Artificial Flavoring Vol. 2. The Queens rapper shut the house down with live performances accompanies by a live band. The event was sponsored by Reco Jeans and guests received gift bags filled with the Sos goodies. eyesInDaSpot: Midnight Madness, RECAP!

We kicked off the first weekend of December by hosting Midnight Madness: Eric Sosa & the Oxymorrons Live ft. Ayindé. The event took place on the campus of SUNY College at Oneonta at the Hunt Union Waterfront Café. We hosted the performances, and they were great; the best I've ever seen these guys perform before! The ladies and gents loved them, the energy was there and on a 10. Once we finished with the performance portion, DJ Omar & DJ S.Whit transitioned the rest of the night into party mode, and we're sure you can use your imaginations with that one. eyeListen: "Major Moves" & "Interesting Encounter"

If you've been wondering where the new fix of music is from some of the most talented unsigned artists - look no further. Oxymorrons, Eric Sosa, Indigo, and Ayindé - if you know elleELLEeye, you've heard these names before. We all know artists out there grinding, but these fellas are making "Major Moves". It's been a minute since Ayindé has released new music (he discusses the reasons why in his recent video), but him and Indigo have been working on a project with Tru Statement Entertainment - Ayindigo. The first single off of the project has been released and it is entitled, "Major Moves".

eyeWatch: "Summer of Love"

The summer may have come to a close for 2010, but not for Eric Sosa. The Queens rapper debuted his video for his single "Summer of Love", and gave everyone a change to get back into the imagery of a day at the beach. Burgers, BMX riders, bikinis, music, and a good time was all to be had in the course of the video. Have you seen Sosa perform live? Well if you were at The Sweet Sound of Hip-Hop you may have, but if not, you'll get a feel of what it's like in the video. The video was directed by Crosby [Photo-Pow]. Happy watching!

Hey readers! Roughly a month ago, Team elleELLEeye, put on our first event:

The Sweet Sound of Hip-Hop
The event acted as a benefit concert for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, at Santos Party House in NYC. The concert feature showcased five talented acts; Young Flame, Eric Sosa, M.A.E, Oxymorrons, and Ayindé. The show was opened up by artists from Epiff@ny Music, music was provided by DJ ENIGM@, and the show itself was hosted by our friend, Miguel Hernandez. There were drinks, Candy Land specials, candy, cupcakes, th whole 9, but most of all, a GREAT time.

All of the performer smashed their sets and we raised over $1000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thanks to you all! Footage will be available soon, but for now you can enjoy some snapshot from those that attended. If you weren't there, you missed one hell of a show, but we missed you!
