eyeYeyeYeye: Thank Him Later

In case you didn't know this, you can't take certain people anywhere. It's a shame - but the cliche remains, and in most cases it's true. Here I was yesterday seriously contemplating going to the FREE Drake concert at South Street Seaport in NYC. His first official album, Thank Me Later dropped and it was a big deal. First and foremost, I'm a fan - I think dude is really talented and I like his approach, you know? More than anything I respect that he is genuine, and he is not trying to be something other than what he is; and that is ALWAYS ACCEPTABLE.
I changed my mind when I recieved a call at around 5pm. Being told that Seaport was looking like a zoo already, and curtain was not until 6pm, make my decision easy. Something said don't do it, and I'm glad yet regretful at the same time.
The regret is that my city couldn't host something like this in a fun manner. A free concert from one of the hottest buzzin' artists out right now? Unmentionable. I'm not here to knock anyone, cause I don't know what sparked the melee, but it was unnecessary and it will probably messed up a lot of things to come. I used to sit back often and wonder why more artists didn't do things like this. All we've ever had on the down-to-earth tip is Summer Stage - but now I see why. Some things are inevitable. And we wonder why Bill 'O Reilly is rich. You do the math.
Here is a video of the madness:

This is my apology to Hip-Hop.
If you feel how I feel, speak your mind.

Beyoncé joined her husband Jay-Z on stage at Coachella to sing
Forever Young.
I loved the performance! Bey's voice sounded great (as usual) and her outfit was cute too. Jay was a little hoarse, but it's all good - being Jay-Z can do that to you. Happy watching!

Last year Janelle Monae hit the stage, but if you want to see your favorite band there, there is hope!
elleELLEeye wants to see the Oxymorrons represent. So jump on the bandwagon and help us out! Do you need a bit more convincing? Check out our interview with the Oxymorrons.
Are you ready to get the Oxys on board for the Afro-Punk Festival? Here's what you do:
1. Go to this link: Afro-Punk Link
2. Leave comments, let them know why the Oxys should be playing, send your favorite Oxy song, send Oxy links...basically this is your chance to go Oxy crazy!
They need to know which bands, from the Afro-Punk community, you would like to see tear up that stage! Sound off with your comments and feel free to add links to the band's page so they can check them out. Here's that link again:

JuNK FOOD: Tour Up!

Have you heard about the Last Girl On Earth Tour featuring Rihanna, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj? If so, you can scratch Nicki off the list of performers. Nicki let her "Barbies" and "Kens" know by tweeting this yesterday:
Today, this information came out of the bag:
Allegedly Rihanna has been growing increasingly worried that her popularity is starting to fade. The insider explained, "No one [in Rihanna's camp] is panicking yet, but there is DEEP concern that Rihanna has peaked, and is on the downside of her music career."
Well when Rihanna learned that HOT AS FIRE new rapper Nicki Minaj was being included in her tour, she was FURIOUS!!! The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, "Nicki [Minaj] was brought in to sell tickets, but Rihanna did NOT want her on." So the insider claimed that Rihanna, presumably fearing that she would be upstaged, used her influence to REDUCE Nicki's role in the tour. Nicki was reportedly going to be the opening act, and be limited in the number of songs she could perform.
Well Nicki's people weren't HAVING IT!!! A person close to Young Money told MediaTakeOut.com, "Nicki is not an opening act, and we would never put her out there like that"
But that's not it. According to our Young Money insider, Nicki ended up calling Rihanna DIRECTLY to ask whether she was behind all of the tour drama. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "I only heard one side of the conversation, but [there] were a lot of curse words thrown back and forth."

To avoid the world noticing my trend of Beyoncéness I wasn't going to post this video, but I just have to for the sake of her fans. On Thanksgiving Day "give thanks for Beyoncé" - (what?!). Anyways, Beyoncé's "I Am..." Concert will be playing at 9pm/EST on ABC. For those of you who missed it, it's here. I'm sure it'll be on just in time DVD for Christmas.
I know you fans are biting your nails in anticipation of the "Video Phone" remix video featuring Lady Gaga - who claims to have brought out her inner Beyoncé for the shoot - and the wait will be over on Thursday! November 5th we will have the video up so get ready!
Make sure you tune in for behind the scenes footage + much more!

Jay & Ciara Cancel Concert in ATL

Much to the chagrin of their fans, the Jay-Z and Ciara concert at the Chastain Park Ampitheatre was cancelled due to inclement weather last night. Only a true force of nature could steal the thunder away from Jiggaman and the hip-hop R&B princess. As if the storm wasn't enough, Ciara was also reported to be under the weather with the flu.The patient crowd waited well over an hour to get the official cancellation, but Jay and CiCi were at the venue and ready to perform before Mother Nature shut it down.
Jay sought refuge from the rain at the home of a local Atlanta mogul.

If you could choose anyone to bring hundreds of thousands of fans into one venue, have an all female band, the fiercest dancers alive, and have the Obamas singing along to her hits, who would that person be? No one else but Beyoncé! Yes, the Queen B, who is currently on her I Am... tour, performed for the for the First Lady, Michelle Obama, and her two daughters, Sasha [little fierce] and Malia, last night at her concert in Washington, DC at the Verizon Center.
As much as I know he would've loved to be there, President Obama was busy discussing health care with ABC. I'm sure he's kicking himself now, but hey President Obama had the chance to see Mrs. Carter perform on a number of occasions; one being at his Inaugural Ball where the entertainer covered Etta James' At Last for their first dance.
I'm sure she put on one helluva show once again! If you're in the Philadelphia area Friday night (June 26th), I would highly recommend you getting a ticket to the hottest tour of the summer! Bey will be performing at the Wachovia Center. Here are the rest of her tour dates...its well worth the $:
