eyeTECH: Wii Up, Flip Down

Tech News for all of you Bizzybodies that use them, and all of you who watch your health:

Cisco (the makers of Flip Cam) has reported that they are discontinuing the hand-held devices due to budget cuts. The once popular item has been defeated by other electronics such as smart phones, leaving the CEO at Cisco no choice but to disband it in an effort to rebuild the company.

Still want one? Better hurry soon!

Oh wait, there's more!

A new study in Canada found that patients who suffered from stroke were more than three times likely to show improvement in arm and hand function when they played video games, versus those who received regular therapy.

This may lead to more digital integration for stroke victims in rehabilitation.

Where did 'Wii' think of that?

eyeWant: A BlackBerry Playbook

And the battle continues...iPhone or BlackBerry? Whatever your choice is, you now have another gadget to add to your wish list. Blackberry users, wallow no more, you now have a PlayBook. Yes, this is RIM’s BlackPad tablet device to the left which should be unveiled in a few days and hit stores this Holiday season.

There was no mention of on board storage capacity during the keynote, though the devices we just spied in our eyes-on post are labeled 16GB and 32GB on their back panels. The PlayBook will be capable of 1080p HD video, and comes equipped with an HDMI port as well as a microUSB jack, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1. The device clocks in at a svelte 5.1- by 7.6-inches, is only 0.4-inches thick, and weighs just 400g (or about 0.9 pounds).

While that could paint an inelegant picture for many iPad users, it’s also a signal that RIM initially will market the device to its own core customers. The BlackPad reportedly will sport as many as two cameras, with one pointed at the user for videoconferencing.

Here's how the PlayBook measures up to the iPad:

effFIVE Home Part-time Jobs

Are you someone who is looking to make some extra cash, or just need a job in general? Trust me, I know the feeling, but there is something you can do about it. In today's world, if you're not in tune with the media world and social networking, you're ten steps behind in the game. So why not put your fingers to use and make some money instead of lallygagging online all day reading gossip sites? Time to start getting paid for it! Job-seekers are looking for some internet savvy people to bring to their business. Here are five part-time jobs that you can do from home:

1. Social Media Expert
From car dealers to local boutiques, nearly every business is looking for a social media expert to Facebook, Twitter and blog about their business. If you want to be proactive, brush up on your social media knowledge and confront local businesses about hiring you. With more and more businesses pulling away from traditional advertising and unsure how to use social media sites to their advantage, you can easily sell yourself as a new hire, as long as you stay on top of your game.
Who's Hiring: Social Media Experts

2. Editor
Many professionals or even job seekers are constantly looking for another set of eyes to edit their new business proposal, cover letter, or transcript. Editing jobs pop up all over job boards and can turn into a steady part-time job if you continue to network.
Who's Hiring: Editors

3. Bookkeeper
With easy-to-use bookkeeping software available, more and more businesses are able to hire part-time bookkeepers who work from home. If you're organized and comfortable with numbers, bookkeeping for a local business can turn into a great part-time job for someone on the prowl for a flexible work schedule.
Who's Hiring: Bookkeepers

4. Data Entry
Rough financial times means that administrative assistant positions are often cut, even though there is work that still needs to be done, such as data entry. Working part-time doing data entry for a company means you'll always have a steady stream of work coming your way, and it's a great foot in the door.
Who's Hiring: Data Entry Workers

5. Call Center Jobs
Companies hire part-time workers to run their call centers from home. Running a virtual call center from your home could mean anything from telemarketing to customer service hotlines. Although little experience is required, some companies do look for employees who are bilingual.

Giveaway: Hana Professional Flat Iron

Looking for a flat iron that's just right for your type of hair? Well, you can always go with a regular ceramic flat iron, but you may be interested in the Hana. According to DC Beauty,
The Hana has five temperature settings suitable for fine, medium or coarse hair. The highest temperature is hot enough to straighten curls while the lowest is great for reducing frizz or creating bounce. I must warn you however that the highest temperature, 450 degrees, is very hot and should be used with caution as fine hair can be damaged easily.
How much does one cost? Not for you to worry about, because you can win one! How? Just follow these simple steps:

1. Follow Misikko on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/misikko
2. Blog about this giveaway on your own personal site ie. Facebook, Blogger etc.
3. Post a comment including your name, email, and the link to your personal site containing the blog.

The winner will be announced on May 3rd, so stay tuned and have your fingers crossed! Shoutout to DC Beauty for the scoop!

More From Apple

The iPhone frenzy has yet to simmer down. With At&t practically giving away iPhone for free, you knew the a storm of new phones had to be coming out of the woodworks. And that's exactly what Apple had up it's sleeve. So, I bet you're wondering what's so "new" about the iPhone:

Front-facing video chat camera
Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
Camera flash
Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
Improved display
It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS
What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
Split buttons for volume, Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic.

Apparently you will be able to video chat as well! That's very cool!

How many Blackberry users will be switiching over to "Team iPhone"?

Headphones Poppin' Like...KOTORI

When getting dressed I'm sure you never think about your headphones as an accessory, but in all actuality they are. Although my headphones are black, I've had all colors from purple to green to pink. I hate paying money for headphones and although I would love a pair of Beats they're a bit pricey.

Meet KOTORI! They have over 100 variations of colors, but if youre not satisfied with those, you can easily design your own by selecting the color of each of the 10 components, or just hit shuffle and see what happens randomly.

Do you like these headphones? Beware: the Kotori site is in a foreign language, so good luck buying them =)

Beats

In the attempt to write a post on these headphone with the infamous "b" on the side of them, and bash everyone wearing them as a fashion statement, I would've felt pretty dumb. Why? Because it looks like the headphones were intended to be just that!

Dr. Dre teamed up with Monster to create his line of headphones. He says that "People aren’t hearing all the music. Artists and producers work hard in the studio perfecting their sound. But people can’t really hear it with normal headphones. Most headphones can’t handle the bass, the detail, the dynamics. Bottom line, the music doesn’t move you. With Beats, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do."

P.S. - At this very moment I JUST (like seriously just now) realized that Will.I.Am says in the song "Boom Boom Pow" "I be rocking them Beats"! Well I always knew he said that, but it didn't register.
