eyeListen: "Jam" & "21st Century Girl"

The world of pop music is making a bigger splash each and everyday. Today we have releases from rising "Popstars" Kim Kardashian and Willow Smith. Despite the prior leakage of her debut single, Kim Kardashian officially released "Jam" produced by The Dream on Ryan Seacrest's radio show today. After hearing the track, I was just as surprised as hearing the debut of "Tardy for the Party" by Kim Zolciac. Don't get me wrong, the track is cool, but I wasn't blown away or anything. Most of the track is auto-tuned, laced with vocals from The Dream. I give it to Kim for branding herself in a number of different markets. One thing you can't deny is the girl knowing how to keep the money rolling in.

With Willow's undeniable success with her single "Whip My Hair", it's no mistaking that she has the talent and charisma to become the new "It" girl of the industry. She recently premiered a snippet of her upcoming single "21st Century Girl" on Oprah's Most Talented Kids episode.

Whoopi Defends Mel GibsonMel Gibson has made big news again for a racist rant against African Americans saying to his ex-girlfriend that "If you get raped by a pack of n****** it will be your fault." With that line he may have angered millions of people. SMH, it's so bad it's almost comical.

Then this week on The View Whoopi came out and said "I know Mel, and I know he's not a racist...He may be a bonehead. I can't sit and say that he's a racist, having spent time with him in my house with my kids." I must say this before I go any further, if this was a black man who had said such things about a white man or any other race, his career would be over. JuNK FOOD: The Dish We Get Served

Welcome to all the gossip-addicts; not here to judge, I myself is included in this craze. I cannot put the mouse down - continuously scanning the net for the newest dish. I came across something today that had me baffled. It was about The Dream and his wife Christina Milian - headline, "The Dream and Christina Milian Over?????" So, me being the curious person that I am, clicked with the quickness only to be disappointed. This was the offering, (view photo to the left). Where does this come across as a marriage destroyed...looks to me like a hardworking man just having a good time. Or am I missing something?

With all of this in mind, I came to think of how factual most of the things that we read really are. Now I am not here to attack a whole industry, far be it for me to be hypocritical, but I am in search of the truth - and I need you guys to help me out. How much of the so-called dish we get served is true, or does it even matter? Are we so intrigued by the lives of others that we throw caution to the wind as soon as we see headlines? Are we addicted to

?

eyewonder. Example, yesterday the headline was Nene from Atlanta Housewives and her husband were on the verge of divorce after having been split for some time, and I couldn't wait to see why. FYI - I still don't know why, but I found myself hanging on to every word of the publication which served me this dish..smh..Someone help me!

Some time ago I was against twitter (DON'T KILL ME) 'cause I refused to be that interested to "follow" someone else. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my whereabouts most of the time, and indeed need calendars, post-its, all of the above to keep me focused (Come on now, you know you are the same way - admit it).

Again not here to badger, just wanted to share my thoughts and get some feedback.

eyeWatch: Jamie Foxx "Digital Girl Remix"

Tonight on BET's Access Granted was the World Premier of Jamie Foxx's "Digital Girl" featuring Drake, The Dream and Kanye West. The song was written and produced by The Dream, who gave the song to Foxx because it didn't fit the sound he was going for on his album Love Vs. Money. Here is the video, its pretty cool, nothing special, but you tell me what you think about it. It was directed by Hype Williams.
