Tonight's the big night! Your first date with your possible love interest. There are definitely a few things that you need to know before you invest your time into this extravaganza. How much do you spend, should it be a double date, do you go all out and break the bank? All valid questions, but for a first date, things should be simple and smooth. Here are some things you may want to consider for the big night!

Inexpen$ive Date: Surprisingly enough it's not a good idea to spend a lot of money on the first date. Keep it simple, yet classy. This way you will be able to tell if the other person is really into you or just interested the activity/ambiance. If things go well, you can splurge on a second date.

Movie Blues: Save the movies for people you know. Quietly sitting in a theater for a couple hours is the best way NOT to get to know someone, so don't do it!

Four's Company Too: It's a good idea to double date on your first date for a couple of reasons. One, if you don't like the person you're with, you can still have a good time. The second reason is: having other people with you will eliminate any awkward moments.

*Have lunch at a diner
*Go to a museum (An art museum, planetarium, etc.)
*Go to the zoo (It may sound a little weird, but the Bronx Zoo has a lovely light show during the winter; which is actually really nice)

*Mini Golf

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

2. We notice other women because we are men and we are alive. This does not mean we're planning to dump you and get with them.

3. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both.

4. If we ask what's wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing is wrong.

5. Get to the point.

6. Understand that men are single-minded and can only do one thing at a time. So don't talk to us while we're doing something. We will either ignore you, because we don't hear you "honestly), or we'll screw up what we're doing because you've distracted us.

7. If something we said could be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

8. It's not that we don't want to make you happy, it's just that sometimes, we don't know how.

9. Learn to work the toilet seat. If it's up, put it down.

10. If you ask a question you don't really want an answer to, expect an answer you didn't want to hear.


11. Your ex-boyfriend is an idiot.

12. Ask for what you want. Let's be clear on this one: Subtle hints don't work. Strong hints don't work. Really obvious hints don't work. Just say it!

13. Yes and no are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

14. Sometimes we just don't want to talk. Don't take it personally.

15. Breathe occasionally so we can get a word in.

16. No, we don't know what day it is. We never will. Mark anniversaries on a calendar that you know we will check.


17. Men see a limited number of colors, like Windows default settings. Peach is a fruit, not a color.

18.Helpless is not cute.

19. Our relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out.

20. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

Have confidence
Its not about what you wear, it's how you wear it. If you have confidence, you can pull just about anything off.

Smell good
A good scent will take you a long way, but don't overdo it. And remember,females like to smell good too, so you dont want your scent and her scent clashing all night. Spraying a little cologne behind your ears and on your wrists are two good places that will ensure a good smell all day.

It's in the shoes
There are two basic types of shoes. Casual and Sporty. It doesn't matter which one you choose, but if you are into the Casual (like shoes, loafers or boots) you get what you pay for. A classic shoe should last you a LONG time, so invest in something well known but and well made. If sporty is your thing, you don't necessarily need to break the bank. Sneakers wont last you half as long as a good shoe, so get what you like, but dont spend as much as you would on shoes.
Hair
Keep it lined up please! Females LOVE to see a man with well groomed hair (trust me). Keep it clean and smelling good too. If waves is your thing, brushing your hair every 10 minutes in public is juvenile annyoing and unacceptable, grow up! If you're wave impared, click here this site will get your waves spinning in no time! If you're into braids, keep them neat. They dont have to be braided into complex loops and styles to get her attention. Sometimes its better to K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stupid)

Don't be afraid of color
Perhaps your favorite color is blue? I'm sure it looks good on you… but if everything you own is blue it's boring. Try to shake it up. Hey even try a pink or purple. If you pull it off with the right complementing colors, you wont look like a girly-man, and you'll probably catch her eye! Disclaimer: I am not suggesting that you go out and buy this Louis Vuitton polo!



Have a good pair of jeans
Know your body: Know what looks good on you and what just looks dumb. Sorry fellas, you all do not look good in skinny (oops i mean fitted) jeans. It just does not work for everyone, but that is OK. Finding a pair of jeans that fit just right might not be easy, but once you do, don't be afraid to invest. Also, lets leave the under clothes, UNDER your clothes. No thanks I would not like to see your boxers.

Mix and match your wardrobe
A good wardrobe should be full of custom and classic pieces. You can then update with a couple of trendy pieces here and there. This might cost you initially, but think of it like building your dream house, you need to start with a great foundation because once you have that, everything else will work out
