eyeLike: 2009 VMA Most Talked About Moments

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was definitely a night to remember. If you want to read my commentary/recap you can do so here. Since this night had so many action-packed moments, I thought that I would share them. From Janet Jackson's tribute to her brother Michael Jackson to Lil Mama crashing Jay-Z's performance (which I am convinced was a publicity stunt on her part, unless Jay-Z says otherwise), this year was one to remember. Here are some videos of those moments:

Janet's tribute to Michael I loved this! Almost brought tears to my eyes.

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi This lady is crazy!

Beyonce - Single Ladies She did it again! She killed it!!!!!!

Beyoncé Wins "Video of the Year" Award and shares the moment with Taylor Swift

Jay-Z performs "Empire State of Mind" with Alicia Keys. Great performance! Lil' Mama, why were you there?

Mariah's Apology

So it seems that I wasn't the only one who thought that Mariah's performance wasn't up to par at Michael's memorial. For me the best thing about the performance was how good her hair looked. She took it upon herself to apologize via Twitter in a number of tweets:

Just recovering from the day. Still filled w/sadness as we listen to KJLH in LA(Stevie Wonder's radio station)paying tribute to MJ.

Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him there in front of me.

One thing I know is, we will never really have to say goodbye to MJ. His legacy lives on through his music and the millions of people. He inspired with his timeless music. He will be forever in our hearts.

The best thing about her performance is that she knew she did a bad job. I commend her for that. You can see the video of her performance below.

This will probably be my last MJ post for a while. Maybe I'll have an MJ song every 25th of the month. But if you missed the live feed of Michael Jackson's Memorial, here are some clips:

eyeAsk: Is the World Ready?

The King of Pop is gone, and it is just hours until his live Memorial Service in California. It's so crazy that so many people are passing, but no one knows when it's their time. Everything happens for a reason people, so aforementioned, e l l e . e l l e . e y e . will not be saddened, but we will celebrate MJ's life. Here are some videos of FANS and videos that fans created celebrating as well [most of which were created before his death]. Hopefully the media will have mercy and just let him rest in peace, but if not, I will wish it upon him myself. R.I.P to the King of Pop, Michael Joseph Jackson. You will be missed!

And last but not least, the King of Pop and the King of Soul at their last award show!

eyeLoveIt: ::tear::

My auntie's tribute to MJ in ATL was phenomenal! She dedicated a video and Halo to him as the closing to her concert [and of course a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to "Ashly and everyone else in the audience]. The second video is the same tribute, but with much better quality from her performance at the Essence Music Festival this past weekend in New Orleans.

BREAKING NEWS

BREAKING NEWS

The world has suffered loss after loss the past couple of day. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson has been pronounced dead.

.Stac. and I tried hard to keep the faith alive on AIM and twitter [misstiffybaby - follow me], but he has moved on to a much better place.

Here is the article from http://www.mercurynews.com/: "Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors at UCLA Medical Center this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma following a heart attack, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The Times said Los Angeles Fir
e Department paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to Medical Center, which is only a few minutes away from Jackson's BelAir home. Jackson's family began arriving at his bedside shortly after his arrival, a law enforcement source told the Los Angeles Times."

No matter your age or ethnicity, I'm sure we all know and love his music. So elle.elle.eye. will not mourn his death, but celebrate his life. Peep the MJ playlist below and remember to keep his family in your prayers! RIP to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
